I attended the latest CSCO forum in November week 1, and the following were my takeaways of what the future is to be…
1. DRONE Deliveries – imagine the last mile of a delivery and one is hampered by unpaved roads, thick forests, dirt and gravel paths, one needs to have an aerial solution. This is the promise of Drones as mini helicopter with miniscule price.
2. Augmented Reality – the ability to synchronize physical and system tools.
3. Virtual Manufacturing – gone are the days when people make products in a factory and deliver to their end customer. The latest trend involved having a remote site looking into what can get made in one country, shipping to another, then getting paid in the process.
4. 3D PRINTING- Nowadays, people want the cheapest, fastest and most economical way to build products. If they can get what they want the fastest way to their doorsteps, then so be it. And thus the promise of 3D printing by Amazon.
